Scotland Summer Expedition 2023

The Scottish Highlands are a place that offers an incredible wilderness experience with out the need to travel abroad. The rugged mountains of Glencoe or the barren flat lands of Assynt offer scenery unlike anything else.

This trip was supposed to be used to scout out climbs that I wanted to do in the winter when the snow roles in. I, however, found myself dashing along narrow winding ridgelines, tiptoeing over exposed rocky steps and gain thousands of meters of assent through the few days that I was there. Despite the trip initially being for scouting I couldn’t help but enjoy climbing whilst basking summer sun and surfing off of the coast of Skye. It is easy to miss the opportunity for a new experience because you’re so focused on something else. Adventure is not something that needs to be waited for on a particular season of time of day it is everywhere you just have to look.
